CBS Announces New Show "BEST FRIENDS FUREVER" WITH KEL MITCHELL

CBS announced today that the seventh season of CBS DREAM TEAM… IT’S EPIC!, the three-hour Saturday morning block, will premiere Saturday, Sept. 28 (9:00 AM-12:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. This season, two new series will join the four returning shows in the lineup: MISSION UNSTOPPABLE, hosted by actress Miranda Cosgrove and executive produced by Geena Davis, and the live action half-hour BEST FRIENDS FUREVER WITH KEL MITCHELL.
BEST FRIENDS FUREVER WITH KEL MITCHELL is a live action, half-hour program that reveals the true stories of dogs who are best pals not only with humans, but with a variety of different animal species. Each episode explores the improbable bonds that dogs have formed with birds, reptiles, ducks, and even dolphins! Along the way, the fascinating characteristics of various breeds and species that allow these unique relationships to thrive are examined. From dog psychology to animal behavior theory, viewers will learn about what makes our furry friends tick, all while celebrating the idea that friendship comes in many different forms.

Many ‘90s kids will remember the orange condiment that had a ratio of sour to sweet so divine that it saved a flailing fast-food restaurant in 1997’s “All That” spinoff movie “Good Burger.” Now, the creation of Kel Mitchell’s clueless, Milli-Vanilli-haired Ed is part of an immersive pop-up restaurant that’s taking reservations in Los Angeles now through the end of the year.
If you ask Mitchell – a co-producer on Nickelodeon’s revived “All That” and co-founder of the pop-up restaurant – about what’s in the sauce, he’ll start answering in his Ed Valley-guy drawl.

During the mid-’90s — specifically 1994 — we were still basking in grunge, films like Reality Bites and shows like My So-Called Life were defining a generation while chokers, baby doll dresses, crop tops and “The Rachel” hairstyle were all the rage. Then, on April 16, 1994, Nickelodeon debuted the comedy sketch show called All That and it sparked a very specific golden age of TV for young adults. The series starred Angelique Bates, Lori Beth Denberg, Katrina Johnson, Alisa Reyes, Josh Server, Kenan Thompson and, this week’s guest on the New Hollywood PodcastKel Mitchell. 25 years later the show is a benchmark in pop culture and Mitchell is executive producing (and appearing in) a reboot of All That which not only introduces the good-natured, silly sketch show to a new generation but also sparks nostalgia for those who remember laughing a Coach Kreeton for the first time.
Mitchell said that All That is a hybrid of In Living Color and Saturday Night Live, but spoke to a younger generation. The series was a launchpad for the Kenan and Kel series and the Good Burgermovie — which led to his role in the superhero comedy Mystery Men. Mitchell also talked about how the All That reboot translates in 2019 and how he is more than happy to utter his iconic catchphrases for fans of all ages (“Welcome to Good Burger, home of the Good Burger can I take your order?!). He also reminisced about talking to the late Aaliyah when she was on the show, drinking orange soda at five-star restaurants and why he chooses the Good Burger pop-up restaurant over Five Guys and In-and-Out. All That‘s signature restaurant Good Burger (home of the Good Burger, if you weren’t aware) can now actually take your order.
Ahead of the premiere of the All That revival, Nickelodeon announced plans to launch a pop-up Good Burger restaurant in Los Angeles. The team behind Saved By the Max, the Saved By the Bell-themed diner that appeared in 2016, is partnering with the network to help bring Good Burger to life. While the restaurant won’t open until July 10, you can purchase tickets starting Monday, June 17 at 10 a.m. PT.
Visitors will be able to munch on real Good Burgers, Good Chunks, and Good Shakes, and, naturally, can expect “a few comedic mishaps and surprises” as part of the experience. A statement from Nickelodeon also promises “Good Burger-themed service experiences, merchandise, games, secret sauce and more.”

All That’ is making a comeback. The reboot of the classic Nickelodeon series premieres June 15. HL spoke EXCLUSIVELY with OG star Kel Mitchell about his advice to the new cast and more.
The pop culture phenomenon known as All That is returning for a new generation of kids. The reboot, premiering June 15 at 8:30 p.m. on Nickelodeon, will feature an all-new cast of kids, with original cast members such as Kel Mitchell, Josh Server, and Lori Beth Denberg making special appearances. Kenan Thompson and Kel will be serving as executive producers. HollywoodLife spoke EXCLUSIVELY with Kel at Nickelodeon SlimeFest on June 8 about the reboot. We asked Kel what kind of advice he’s given to the new cast members.
“I have been given them a lot of comedy advice, which has been great,” Kel told HollywoodLife. “These kids are some great listeners. They bring the physical comedy, and in the auditions, they came in with their own voices and their own characters. I also told them to have a good sense of themselves and told them that they were special before they got on the show so that they can just enjoy it. No competition between one another, it’s a team effort. It has been great to give notes to other producers and get in there too and act. I am wearing two hats so it’s cool!”
The original All That aired from 1994 until 2005. In addition to Kenan, Kel, Josh, and Lori, the show also featured well-known stars like Amanda Bynes and Nick Cannon. All That is beloved amongst ’90s kids and the love for the show remained alive long after it ended. Kel said that fans are the reason why the show is coming back in the first place! “I mean, even last year before we even announced SlimeFest or All That, everybody was talking about All That,” he told HollywoodLife. “I was being stopped in the street and people wanted me to do ‘Good Burger’ and talking about orange soda. So it’s all about the fans and we really did it for them!”
During the premiere episode, the Jonas Brothers will be featured in the “Good Burger” skit with Kel. They will also close the show with a performance of their hit “Sucker.”
TAILS OF VALOR, hosted by Kel Mitchell, is a live-action half-hour program that features true stories of service animals working to change people’s lives. The program also examines the life science behind these relationships, including the animals’ unique and powerful senses that enable them to protect their human charges. TAILS OF VALORwill focus on the training and day-to-day jobs of these incredible animals and the quality of life they provide the people they serve, leaving viewers with a greater understanding and compassion for animals. Viewers will learn to see the world from different perspectives, and how those with disabilities experience everyday life and the challenges they face. This program is specifically designed to further the educational and informational needs of children, has educating and informing children as a significant purpose, and otherwise meets the definition of Core Programming as specified in the Commission’s rules.
‘All That’ Revival Gets Premiere Date On Nickelodeon; Jonas Brothers & Original Castmembers Guest

It’s been nearly a decade and a half since All That ended on Nickelodeon, and now the series revival has a premiere date. The Viacom-owned cable net said today that the reimagined show with an all-new cast will launch at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, June 15.
The first episode also will feature appearances from three folks who were part of the original main cast: Kel Mitchell — who was a regular in Seasons 1-5 — Lori Beth Denberg (Seasons 1-4) and Josh Server (Seasons 1-6). They will reprise classic characters and sketches during the first season, including Mitchell in “Good Burger” and Denberg in “VItal Information” and “Loud Librarian.”
The new All That will introduce a TBA cast of kids to a new generation of viewers, along with original comedic sketches, beloved ones, new characters and impersonations of today’s popular celebrities. Each new episode will also feature a musical performance and guest stars from the worlds of TV, film, comedy and more.
Created by Brian Robbins and Mike Tollin and airing from 1994-2005, All That spawned spinoff series including Kenan & Kel, The Amanda Show and The Nick Cannon Show and the feature Good Burger. That 1997 film starred Mitchell and Kenan Thompson, who executive produce the new All That alongside Kevin Kay. Jermaine Fowler serves as consulting producer, and Jonathan Judge directs the first three episodes.
